On Saturday, 10th December 2022, Christlike Orphanage and Charity Home organized a seminar for the aged ones at its premises located at 7, G Close, Off Olaniyi Talabi Close, Madella Bus Stop, opposite White House Ikorodu Lagos. The seminar started at 10:00 am and lasted for about three hours.
The seminar featured free medical check up, health talk, prayer, games and refreshments for the participants. The aim of the seminar was to educate and empower the aged ones on how to take care of their health and wellbeing.
One of the invited organizations was Accu Chek company, which specializes in diabetes management products. Some representatives from this company gave a lecture on the right types and proportion of food to eat from 50 years above. They also introduced their sugar test machine and test strip which is necessary for everyone to monitor their sugar level in the comfort of their homes. They demonstrated how to use the device and offered free testing for the interested participants.
The seminar also included a prayer session led by Pastor John, He prayed for God’s protection, provision and healing for the aged ones. He also encouraged them to trust in God and live a Christlike life.
The participants also enjoyed some games and activities that were designed to stimulate their mental and physical abilities. They played bingo, chess, scrabble, puzzles and other games. They also sang some songs and danced together.
The seminar ended with a refreshment session where the participants were served with snacks and drinks. They also received some gifts and souvenirs from the orphanage. The participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the organizers and sponsors of the seminar. They said they learned a lot and had fun at the same time.
The seminar was part of the outreach programs of Christlike Orphanage and Charity Home, which aims to show love and care to the less privileged in the society. The orphanage also provides shelter, education, medical care and spiritual guidance to abused and abandoned children.
